Lovćen National Park represents the heart of Montenegro. The park is incredibly vital to the country, both historically and ecologically. Mt. Lovćen itself, the mountain the park is named for, provides some of the most stunning views of both the park and the aquamarine coastline stretching below.

From a historical perspective, Lovćen is a timeless treasure. Montenegro's national hero, Petar II Petrović Njegoš, lies entombed on the peak. Additionally, a mausoleum honouring him lies 1600 m above sea level.

The national park also boasts many natural treasures. Lovćen National Park has two main peaks: Lovćen itself and Jezerski Vrh. They both soar over 1600 m above sea level. In terms of biodiversity, the park is home to over 1100 plant species. Additionally, over 200 species of bird fly through the park during the year.

Several hiking trails ranging in difficulty run through Lovćen. One hike of note takes adventurers from the peak of Lovćen all the way down to the Old Town of Kotor. Hikers can also mount the path to the Njegoš mausoleum, and can either hike all the way from the bottom or drive to a halfway point for a shorter, more family-friendly hike.
