One of the great things about Bulgaria is that “family” is still a special strong bond that holds the Bulgarians together. Your kids will feel at home when you come to Varna. Because of its parks, museums and beaches this Sea Capital of Bulgaria will bring many family memories for years to come.
The strategic position of Varna on the map of southeastern Europe has turned the city into one of the largest settlements on the Black Sea shore since antiquity. Multiple monuments presented today in the city Archaeological Museum date back to this period. The museum’s impressive collection includes the finds from the Varna chalcolythic necropolis – the oldest golden treasure in the world found by now, dating back to six thousand years ago. After your visit to the museum, your family will love to relax in the garden of Parmy Family Restaurant and enjoy some fresh seafood or pasta, which is my kids’ dish of choice.
The Sea Garden of Varna offers multiple entertainment options – there is an amphitheater, an astronomical complex, an observatory, a planetarium and a tower on its territory, as well as multiple entertainment platforms and a small rowing channel for children, a pool for water wheels and a zoo. The summer theater is a center of multiple events, as the most significant of them are the Varna Music Days, the world-famous International Ballet Contest and the Days of Varna Summer – triennial of arts. What better way to enjoy your time at the Sea Garden than with gelato cone?! 😉
The city beach is situated below the Sea Garden, but we prefer Sunny Day, which is located 10 km to the northeast of Varna with fine, sand beaches. Sunny Day is a peaceful oasis for the family with its clean sea, golden sand and mineral springs. The complex offers accommodation in elegant hotels – Palace Hotel, Marina Hotel, Veronika Hotel and Mirage Hotel, built on the very seashore. The hotels offer all inclusive accommodation. The resort offers five restaurants, two fully equipped spa centers, outdoor and two indoor mineral water swimming pools, yacht dock and conference halls.
