This is an ideal place for hikers that use it as a multi-day base to explore the peaks and lakes in the center of the park or as an overnight hut for thru hikers.

  1. De locatie, de gastvrijheid en het eten waren zo goed, dat het moeilijk was om te vertrekken.

Oorspronkelijk hadden we twee overnachtingen in Durmitor gepland.

Initially we planned two nights in Durmitor. The place, the hospitality and food of Bella & Zoran were so great, that we couldn’t leave. Finally we spend four nights. We, including our 2 boys of 7 and 8 years, had a very good time in Nadgora. Thank you Meanderbug for introducing us this wonderful place and made us feel home in Montenegro.

  2. The place, the hosts, the farm and what's around are wonderful.

Warmly recommended! We stayed four nights at the farm of Zoran and Bella( we initially reserved prudently a single night, but after a quick look at the magnificent farm and a few drinks with the joyful Zoran, we decided to stay more- and maybe not enough) .
The location is excellent, 10-15 minutes from Zabliac which is enough to make you feel the Montenegrin countryside, and close enough to get quickly to the city and to the park. Bella is a great cook, and as other farms we had been everything that is served come from her garden( and I mean everything).
I have a particularly good memory of the dinner, the dishes were endless( home made cheese and bread, vegetable stew, fishes, local cakes, a lot of sort of jam and honey) and Zoran had 6-7 different sort of home made drinks which are served at will almost for free.

In conclusion, the place is great, the hosts are very sympathetic, the farm and what’s around are wonderful.

  3. I wish we'd had longer here.

We loved our stay at Zoran’s farm. Zoran was warm and welcoming and went out of his way to make us feel at home. The food was hearty and delicious and there was lots of choice for us pescatarians – fried trout, potato stew, cheese pie, vegetable soups… The room in the cabin was cosy (and warm, with the addition of an electric heater) and the location was wonderful – outside a village on the edge of a forest, surrounded by mountains. There are hikes to do right from Zoran’s place but we ended up hiking to Ledena Pecena (about 6 hours return and a steep scramble near the end) – start at the parking lot to Black Lake. All in all, a wonderful stay! I wish we’d had longer here.

  4. Absolutely great

I only stayed one night in this katun but it was absolutely great. Zoran and his family were very welcoming. They picked me and my friend up at Zabljak, we got homemade juice at the arriving and a delicous dinner and breakfast.
The room was very nice with a good bed, clean showers and toilet. The katun is not far from Curevac, a viewpoint to the Tara River Canyon, little know to teh public, so splendid views without any crowd.
If I would travel back to Montenegro to explore more of Durmitor NP I would certainly stay at this katun again.

  5. Great food, hiking & accommodations

Zoran’s home is beautiful. We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed every moment. His entire family were warm, welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. If you’re planning a trip to Durmitor don’t hesitate to book a stay here, a 10 minute drive (or an hours walk) from Zabljak the place is remote and a great base to explore the Durmitor mountains and Tara canyon to the north. During our stay we hiked up Ledena Pecena and Crvena Greda, both amazing walks. We had breakfast and dinner everyday during our visit, all the food was incredible, stews, steaks, smoked meats, homemade jam and cheeses, we were spoilt for choice and never went hungry.

The room and cabin were cosy, warm and had everything we could need. The location idyllic and totally unique. Thank you Meanderbug for helping us find this place!

  6. La mejor carne. Amigable gente. 100% recomendable.

100% recomendable.

  7. A great base to relax and take a break from it all

We had a great time at Zoran & Bella’s family farm. It’s a great base to relax and take a break from it all. And Mt Curevac (a superb place to see Tara Gorge) is a splendid hike from the farm door – it takes about 45 minutes one way. Delicious food and a sweet setting. Hvala.

  8. Highly recommend...this mountain stay!

We had such a nice stay with Zoran. We stayed for 3 nights with our 3.5 year old and 10 month old son in mid April. He was patient and kind to our boys–they absolutely adored him–following him around his kitchen and garden. He would take them onto his lap and feed them their dinner, he and our son discussed their love of pancakes and he made traditional Serbian pancakes for him the next morning. He cooked us incredible food for our breakfast and dinners—and the most delicious fig-drink! Hiking the Tara Canyon Lookout (Curevac) will forever be a highlight for us. Just beautiful. Zoran’s place was basic, but the beds and space made for a goodnight’s sleep.
Brit and his Meanderbug team were incredibly helpful, quick, and thoughtful in their communication with us.
Highly recommend this company and this mountain stay!

  9. One of the highlights of our trip to Montenegro!

Staying at Zoran’s place was one of the highlights of our trip to Montenegro! He was an amazing host – teaching us some Serbian, spoiling us with delicious meals, and going out of his way to ensure we found the path down Tara Canyon. We stayed in late April and were concerned that there might be too much snow in the area to hike, but the walk down Tara Canyon was almost fully snow free and the temperature was comfortable. The bedrooms are very cozy and charming and the “outhouse” actually includes a shower with warm water (not mentioned in the description – we were pleasantly surprised!). Hvala and hopefully we’ll meet again!

  10. Merci beaucoup! Hvala!

    Merci beaucoup ! Hvala !

  13. The perfect retreat!

Bella & Zoran were the perfect hosts! Even though we don’t really speak each other’s languages, Bella’s amazing cooking (think 3-course dinners and sumptuous spreads for breakfast with homemade preserves and deepdish pancakes) and Zoran’s hospitality in the form of free-flow rakija were very heart-warming. The out-of-the way location made it the perfect retreat.

  14. Not sharing a common language was no problem. We laughed a lot.

We loved Zoran’s generosity and warm fun hospitality. The food was lovingly prepared with quality ingredients, and the rakija was plentiful. Not sharing a common language was no problem. We laughed a lot. I learned the Serbian word for ‘joke’. The accommodations were comfortable although the toilet seat a bit chilly in the middle of the cold late September nights. 😊
The location is good for hiking and mountain biking which can be done right from the spot.

  15. Edited stars

(I meant to put 5 stars but don’t know how to edit it)

  16. Room with a view

Bella & Zoran are very friendly people and we had a great time at their place. We stayed 6 nights here in August as it was perfectly situated for all the beautiful hikes to do in the Durmitor. Zoran has a map of the area and he or his son can give you good advice. I think it is better to have a car.
Zoran’s place is basic as well as the food but the scenery is just incredible!
