Regent Porto Montenegro nestles on the palm-lined shores and lush mountainous backdrops of Bay of Kotor – a historical Austro-Hungarian naval base that is now a superyacht homeport and the heart of the best emerging cruising ground in the Mediterranean basin. The Regent Spa sits on Level 2, where you will also find the hotel’s Regent Lounge, Ballroom Teodo with its pool deck, Salon Boka, the spa’s exclusive indoor heated swimming pool and jacuzzi.Regent Spa_ Indoor poolReception & Change Rooms
The Regent Spa has a unique set-up in the way of reception and waiting areas. When you exit the lifts on Level 2, you pass some comfortable seating and a small retail display for The Regent Spa. You will check-in here and be escorted into the change room, where you will receive a locker with a robe, slippers and some undergarment for you to wear during your treatment. This area is actually the waiting area, so you need to wait here at your appointment time for your therapist to greet you. That being said, I recommend arriving at least an hour before your treatment to enjoy their facilities like sauna, steam room, hammam (Turkish bath) or relax in their Jacuzzi looking out through the full-glassed windows at the marina.View of the marina and the Boka BayMy Treatment
The treatment menu at The Regent Spa offers a range of expectant essentials (facials and massages) and some lavish signature treatments. With my back giving me so much anguish over the last few weeks, I opted for their signature 60-minute massage. Where east meets west, this massage brings the body to the next level of relaxation. The room was beautifully scented, the lights were dim and an air of relaxation came over me as soon as I entered. I took a seat next to the massage table, as instructed. This is where the foot cleansing ritual takes place and it’s the perfect way to ease into a spa treatment. After soaking my feet in a bowl of warm water, the therapist cleanses them, dries them and applies foot lotion. I wish every spa included this with their treatments because it really does make a difference to getting into relax mode.

I then moved to the massage bed where I lay face down. Erika, my massage therapist, could instantly feel all the knots and tension in my back. It’s always a little difficult for me to relax and not tense up at first, but she was gentle as a feather and checked that the pressure throughout the treatment. It didn’t take long before the warmth of the oil and her calming movements helped me to relax. By the end of the massage, my back was looser and my neck & shoulder pain had eased dramatically. I felt like I could stand-up straight and confidently.

After the treatment, Erika took me to the relaxation room, where I was presented with hot ginger tea with honey and some shortbread. It’s the ultimate post-massage treat because somehow I always feel a little extra exhausted after such a relaxing experience. It was those sweet treats that left me with a lasting impression that my time at The Regent Spa was well spent.

With signature services and treatments tailored to your needs, why wait?
